Board additions bring three decades of Air Force intelligence leadership and deep aerospace and defense investment experience as EI grows government and commercial sector business

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Sept. 16, 2026 — Enabled Intelligence (EI) today announced two additions to its Board of Directors: Lieutenant General Mary O’Brien, U.S. Air Force (Retired), and Paul Hockel, Managing Partner at Tower Peak Partners. The appointments come as EI continues to grow its work building and supporting AI capabilities at the Pentagon and across the commercial sector.

Lt. Gen. O’Brien’s (Retired) 34-year Air Force career spanned senior intelligence, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), and cyber leadership roles. During her tenure in the Air Force, she supported the 2011 proof of concept that became Project Maven, the DoD and Intelligence Community’s flagship AI program. Most recently, she served as Director of C4/Cyber (J6) on the Joint Staff, where she worked to accelerate AI and data-enabled solution across the department alongside the DoD Chief Digital and AI Office.

Hockel is a Managing Partner at Tower Peak Partners, where he leads the firm’s aerospace and defense investment team, where he focuses on the scaling of industrial technologies. He previously served as Technology Vice President and Head of Data & Analytics for General Dynamics Information Technology’s Intelligence & Homeland Security Division. He began his career as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force before moving into the commercial sector to help build and deploy technology systems alongside the U.S. government.

“Mary spent three decades building and running the intelligence and ISR systems that support our national security missions, including the early work behind Project Maven. Paul has spent his career investing, building and deploying technologies alongside government partners in defense and intelligence and knows how to scale while achieving mission success. Adding this technical expertise and depth to our board ensures that EI can continue our trajectory of rapid growth in both the government and commercial markets,” said Peter Kant, CEO of Enabled Intelligence.

“Enabled Intelligence is solving a problem I saw for years from the government side — AI systems are only as good as the data behind them. I’m looking forward to working with the team as they continue to bring the best of data labeling and annotation, as well as purpose-built, highly specialized models, to meet the continually evolving needs of national security missions,” said Lt. Gen. Mary O’Brien, U.S. Air Force (Retired).

“Tower Peak is very supportive and proud to support the incredible work that the Enabled Intelligence team have achieved to date, the firm is uniquely positioned to develop a significant market share in such mission-critical areas. The company’s capabilities, precision and mission success has made them the industry leader when it comes leveraging AI for ROI. I’m looking forward to supporting that growth as EI scales to meet the needs of everyone trying to effectively implement AI technologies,” said Paul Hockel, Managing Partner, Tower Peak Partners.
