Enabled Intelligence makes it easier, faster, and cheaper to use Palantir’s industry leading ML Ops solution

Since announcing our partnership earlier this year with Palantir, we’ve seen an immediate positive impact for our customers. But for the benefit of those DoD and IC users who are not EI customers (yet), we wanted to quickly explain why our collaboration with Palantir is a really big deal.

Let’s start with a reminder of the current challenges that many DoD and IC users still face today, despite the incredible improvements in AI, data analytics, edge computing, data integration, cloud computing, etc, etc.

  • A data tsunami. The amount of raw, unstructured, and hard-to-analyze data that the DoD and IC generate is growing exponentially. The only way to analyze this data effectively is with the help of AI-powered solutions.
  • A shortage of internal AI expertise and talent. It’s not realistic to imagine that DoD can simply build all the AI tools it needs, or hire thousands of PhDs. Hence the need for commercial solutions that can empower DoD users to get the results they need.
  • Stovepiped data and AI models. Accumulated over decades, and millions of man hours, there are tens of thousands of valuable DoD and IC datasets that could be made even more valuable through the use AI, but which do not talk to each other. This also means that many of the AI models that have been developed to analyze these datasets or sensor outputs only work on those specific datasets and outputs – they cannot be extended for use through the entire DoD enterprise.
  • Limited resources. In 2024, the DoD and the IC spent around $1.8B on AI technology. That sounds like a huge amount of money but once you begin dividing that pot of money among different service branches, combatant commands, intelligence agencies, the reality is that the DoD program managers in charge of figuring out how use AI are seriously cost constrained.

It Starts with Palantir Foundry

With these challenges as context, it’s easy to understand why Palantir Foundry has been adopted by an increasing number of users in the DoD and IC.

“To stay ahead of our adversaries, we must build solutions that accelerate the OODA loop across all mission-critical workflows. Trusted data-labeling partners are critical to the development and refinement of AI in the Intelligence space.” says Aki Jain, Palantir’s President & CTO, US Government. “We’re thrilled to partner with companies like Enabled Intelligence who share our commitment to maintaining America’s unique software and AI advantage.”

Palantir Foundry is an enterprise software platform that was designed to address these challenges. It has a powerful data integration capability that allows users to pull together various data sources, including structured, unstructured, streaming, and IoT data, allowing for a unified view of data across the enterprise. It has robust data security features that meet DoD and IC requirements. And it has a powerful MP Ops capability, that allows DoD and IC customers to build and integrate AI and ML models to enable tasks like predictive analysis, pattern recognition, and automated decision-making.

Foundry + Enabled Intelligence = Better, Faster, Cheaper AI

Foundry is an incredibly powerful solution – and Palantir’s partnership with Enabled Intelligence can help DoD and IC users get even more value from it. Enabled Intelligence, which has a SCIF and can handle classified materials up to TS/SCI, has built a best-in-class team of data analyst professionals with deep expertise in labeling and annotating unstructured data such as video, geospatial imagery, and foreign language text and audio.

“Palantir’s best-in-class enterprise AI capabilities are well-documented, and they are singular in this category,” said Peter Kant, CEO of Enabled Intelligence. “We are proud to be their partner and eager to watch our integrated, end-to-end capabilities improve the speed and accuracy of decision making across mission-critical customer enterprises.”

This is critically important for Foundry users.

One scenario is when DoD and IC users build a model – e.g. a model to improve the performance of drones in combat — using Foundry and need to generate very high quality data to train that model. In this scenario, the application is truly mission critical. Enabled Intelligence will ensure that the training data is accurately labeled, organized, and put into structured workflows that can be seamlessly integrated with Foundry.

Another scenario is when DoD and IC users have working AI models and AI training datasets that were produced prior to the adoption of Foundry. In this case, rather than simply discard the existing AI model and datasets, Enabled can rapidly modify and finetune these assets so that they can be quickly integrated into Foundry. And speed to deploy is not the only benefit for end users. The Palantir / Enabled partnership reduces downstream compute and retraining costs by ensuring high quality data upfront.
